Allan Sherwood is part of the Barbie doll collection by Mattel. Created in 1963, Allan was designed to be the boyfriend of Barbie's friend, Midge. Allan is not only Ken Carson's first male friend, he is his only male friend (so far) to be given a surname.

Like Ken, he was an 11 1/2" doll with straight arms and straight legs. Unlike the first Ken dolls, he had molded hair. A bent-leg Allan doll later appeared.

In 1991, Allan's changed the way he spelled his name, to Alan. Also in that year, Allan and Midge got married and had a pair of twins (a boy and a girl). Now Allan and Midge are the only married couple in the Barbie doll line.
