| Andrew Knott (born on 22 November 1979 in Salford, Manchester, England) is a British actor. His first acting was done in British television and radio programs. He was trained in the Oldham Theatre Workshop. Andrew's first major movie was Warner Brothers' The Secret Garden in 1993, playing opposite such actors as Maggie Smith, John Lynch, and Kate Maberly. Following this critically acclaimed and award-winning film, he played "Joe Green" in Black Beauty, also critically acclaimed. In 2004, Andrew returned to theatre to act in The History Boys. The National Theater production later toured the world, giving Andrew his first appearance on Broadway. Alan Bennett adapted his hit play into a movie of the same title, The History Boys, which was directed by the National's Nicolas Hytner. Andrew lives in Yorkshire, England, like his character in The Secret Garden, "Dickon." He has appeared in numerous films and stage productions.
