Anna Maria Horsford (born March 6, 1948 in Harlem, New York, USA) is an African-American television and film actress. She is of Antiguan Descent. At an early age, she was accepted into the New York High School of Performing Arts where she studied and perfected her acting abilitites. Her first major role on television was portraying the character of Clara Jones on the television soap opera, Guiding Light in 1979. She has made several guest appearances in sitcoms such as The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Sparks, and Moesha. She is known mostly for her portrayal of "Thelma Frye" on the sitcom Amen. That led to another prominent role on the sitcom The Wayans Bros. She is a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority Inc.
