| Arkie Whiteley, was born 'Arkje Deya Whiteley' in 1965 to the Australian artist Brett Whiteley (1939-1992), and his wife Wendy Whiteley. Arkie was an actress who appeared in television and films until her death from cancer in 2001. According to her obituary in The Times newspaper, when living with her parents at the Chelsea Hotel in New York as an infant her baby sitter was US blues singer Janis Joplin.
