| Arthur Hughes (June 24 1894 - December 28 1982) was an actor, first on the stage and later on radio in the 1930s and 1940s. He was best known as 'Bill Davidson' on the long-running radio program called Just Plain Bill. He acted in other well-known radio programs such as the Fu Manchu Mysteries and Mr. Keene, Tracer of Lost Persons. He later appeared in some made-for-TV movies in the 1960s.
Hughes and Edward Pawley of Big Town fame were good friends. They were roommates in their early years in Manhattan, NYC. Arthur was a witness at Edward Pawley's marriage to his first wife, stage actress Martina May Martin in 1922.
