Ashley Christina Hartman (born August 31, 1985) is an American actress and model.

Biography

Hartman was born to Michele Knutsen and Kip Hartman in Orange County, California. When she was four years of age, her parents divorced and Hartman lived with Knutsen and her two sisters.

In middle school, Hartman became the soloist and performed at all of her school's talent shows. She graduated from Mater Dei High School and was a cheerleader, a cross-country participant, and President of her class for her Freshman and Sophomore school years.

Career

In 2003, Hartman went to Hollywood in order to participate in American Idol and made it into the second season's top 32 finalists. After her performance of Diana Ross's "Touch Me in The Morning," the judges suggested she get into acting and modeling. She was soon recruited by the casting director of the FOX series The O.C. She had a recurring role as Holly Fischer in the first season of The O.C. for six of that season's episodes.

Acting

In addition to her role in The O.C., Hartman has a number of films lined up for 2006. She has landed roles in the horror films Abominable and Mystic Blood. She also has a cameo role in X-Men: The Last Stand
but her character is still unknown. Soon she will star in the movie adaption of Darkchylde as the lead character, Ariel Chylde. She has additional television credits as noted below.

Modeling

Following her work on The O.C., Hartman has appeared in a variety of magazines including Maxim, SG, W, YM, Pop Star!, Lemonade, Riviera, People, and Newport Health. She made her national magazine cover debut on Nirvana Woman and followed up with Maxim magazine's 2006 Swimsuit Issue and Sports Illustrated's 2006 Swimsuit Issue.

She currently models and appears in print ads for Girlactik Beauty, Hurley International, Electric Visual, and the Ford Motor Company.

Trivia

Started up Star Born Talent, a talent agency, with her friend Sanjay Bhushan.
Was the first Caucasian woman to grace the cover of Nirvana Woman magazine.
Was declared one of Maxim magazine's "The 5 Most Gorgeous Girls in Hollywood!" in 2005.
