Barbara Pepper (May 31, 1915-July 18, 1969) was an American actress.

Born Marion Pepper in New York, Barbara Pepper started in show business at age 16 as a beautiful Ziegfeld showgirl where she met lifelong friend Lucille Ball
. Pepper began making movies and did radio parts. However, her life took a nosedive in 1949 when her husband was killed in a motorcycle accident. She began drinking and became dumpy and overweight. After that her roles were mostly confined to small movie parts. Among them, My Fair Lady
and It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, and I Love Lucy. She is most remembered as being the first Doris Ziffel on the 1965-71 television comedy Green Acres. However health problems forced her to leave the series and she was replaced by Fran Ryan
.

Pepper died on July 18, 1969, in Panorama City, California.
