Barry Shabaka Henley (born September 15, 1954 in New Orleans, Louisiana) is an American character actor, and a fixture in many films, most often the films of director Michael Mann, having worked with the director four times with Ali, Collateral in a marvelous turn as a sensitive, ill-fated jazz musician, the upcoming film adaptation of Mann's TV series Miami Vice
of the same name, and the shortlived TV show Robbery Homicide Division, of which Mann is producer. Henley is adept in many genres, mainly comedy, drama, and thrillers.

A seasoned stage actor with several awards to his credit such as the Drama Desk, Obie, and Olivier award, Henley was also a member of the West Coast Black Repertory Theatre and the San Francisco Mime Troupe. In addition to his stage work, Henley has also travelled around Europe and Asia.
