| Ben Watton is 10 years old and lives in Bournemouth, Dorset, where he is currently in Year 6 of Winton Primary School. Ben's first professional stage appearance was at the tender age of 6, when he appeared as a mini Bobby Ball opposite the real Cannon and Ball in "A Night Of A Thousand Laughs" at the Pavilion Theatre in Bournemouth. At the age of 7 he was chosen to play 'Tiny Tim' in a new musical adaptation of "Scrooge" with Jakes Ladder Theatre Company, a small professional company, at Bryanston Arts Centre in Blandford and at the Tivoli Theatre in Wimborne, under the direction of Steve Eaton-Evans. At the age of 8, Ben played 'Michael Darling' in a Michael Rose musical production of "Peter Pan" at the Lighthouse, Poole, alongside Matthew Kelly, Tracey Childs and Michael Medwin. Ben made his West End debut at the age of 9, having been chosen at the age of 8 from nationwide open auditions to play 'Michael Banks' in the original cast of the Disney/Cameron Mackintosh musical "Mary Poppins", appearing at both the Bristol Hippodrome and the Prince Edward Theatre in the West End. Ben's TV credits include the part of 'Andrew' in the CBBC drama "Living It" and 'Fernando' in Series 7 of the popular children's sitcom "My Parents Are Aliens" . He was also chosen to appear in a lead role in a performed reading of the pilot of a new children's sitcom, performed at a live Granada TV Showcase in London. Ben has appeared in a number of short films, including playing the lead role of 'Boy' in "Something Lost" with AAC Films, the role of 'Oik' in "The Last Chapter" with Multistory Films, and two graduation films for Bournemouth University, playing 'Liam Nash' in "Ask Questions Later" and the lead role of 'Isaac' in "The Fly". Ben also features in the 2006 "Are You There Yet?" BBC drama ident. In January 2006, Ben filmed a series of Oxford University Press DVD's entitled "Cool Kids 3 & 4" and "Surprise 3 & 4", in which he plays the lead role of 'Ben'. Ben has also appeared in a number of local amateur shows, including as a 'Munchkin' in "The Wizard Of Oz" at the Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth, and as 'William Page' in an open-air production of "The Merry Wives Of Windsor" at the Priory House Gardens, Christchurch. He has also appeared in various local student productions, most notably as the 'Court Jester' in the world premiere of "George and the Fairytale" , a play co-written by the actress Sandra Dickinson and her partner Mark Osmond. Ben currently studies dance and drama part-time at The Stage Door School of Dance and Drama in Bournemouth, under principal Maureen Headford and drama coach Mark Osmond. He is following the ISTD syllabi for ballet, tap and modern dancing. Ben is also currently studying the piano and music theory under Malcolm Burdett ARC, and is also a keen drummer and singer. Ben also possesses basic trampolining and gymnastic skills.
