Bengt Ekerot had several roles in Swedish films, but he became internationally immortalized in 1957 when he starred in Ingmar Bergman’s The Seventh Seal, portraying "Death" as a pale faced man in a black cloak, which created a movie stereotype to be endlessly copied in later movies.
