Actors - Bolo Yeung

Yang Sze (), better known as Bolo Yeung, born in Guangzhou, China, July 3, 1938. A one-time competitive bodybuilder and martial arts student of Bruce Lee
turned martial arts film actor, cast mostly as the villain. His best-known appearances are as Bolo in Enter the Dragon
and as Chong Li in Bloodsport
with Jean-Claude Van Damme, and he has starred in many martial arts B movies.

Life and Getting Started in the Movie Industry

Yang Sze, better known as "Bolo Yeung", started his martial arts career at an early age while in Canton, China where he studied under several kung fu masters. He also took acrobatics and was a competitive weight lifter; eventually becoming the powerlifting champion of mainland China. During his early years Bolo swam to Hong Kong to escape the oppressive rule of the Communists at the time. Contrary to popular belief, Bolo was not a Shotokan Karate champion, nor did he ever practice this martial art.

Bolo would meet Bruce Lee
while the two were filming a Winston cigarettes commercial. A friendship emerged and Bruce invited him to star in Enter the Dragon, where he became known as Bolo. During the 1970's, Bolo would star in numerous kung fu films but his hollywood breakthrough wouldn't occur until he starred along side Jean Claude Van Damme
in the movie Bloodsport
.

In real life, Bolo is the father of three children, and he is known as a kind and humble man. He still gets in about 2 hours of weightlifting each day, and he regularly practices Taijiquan. He is the chairman of the Hong Kong Gym Business Association, and the team manager of the Tapei International Body Building squad.
