Brad Renfro born Braddock Darryl Renn-Frowe (25 July, 1982 in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA) is an American actor who began acting a a child. In adulthood he has developed a reputation for "bad-boy" antics as a result of problems arising from drug and alcohol abuse.

Career

Renfro was twelve when he was discovered by Mali Finn, a casting director for Joel Schumacher, director of The Client
. He played the title role in the film opposite Susan Sarandon and Tommy Lee Jones.

Brad Renfro has gone on to act in several well-regarded films in his adulthood including 2005s The Jacket
with Keira Knightly and Adrian Brody. In 1995 he won Hollywood Reporter's "Young Star" award and was nominated as one of People Magazine's "Top 30 Under 30."

Personal life and problems

In 1998 Renfro was charged with possession of cocaine and marijuana, but he avoided jail time in a plea deal. In 2001, he was arrested and sentenced to two years probation on charges of trying to steal a 45-foot yacht in Fort Lauderdale, Florida with a friend. The men forgot to untie it from the dock and it bounced back as they drove it away, causing damage. Residents caught the thiefs and held them until the police arrived. Still only 19 years of age, he was arrested again in May 2001 and charged with underage drinking. In 2002, he was charged with driving without a license and public intoxication. Both charges violated terms of his probation, and Renfro was ordered into an alcohol rehabilitation program.

On December 22, 2005, Renfro was arrested for allegedly attempting to purchase heroin during a drug sting operation in Los Angeles's skid row section. He was charged with attempting to possess heroin, a felony in California. Renfro was ordered into drug treatment program in February after he pleaded guilty to charges of trying to buy heroin.

Renfro is currently engaged to Caroline Duncan, a Canadian. She is allegedly pregnant with his child who risks suffering fetal alcohol syndrome.
