| Catherine Lacey (1904 - 1979) was a British actress who made her film debut in 1938 as the secretive nun who wears high heels in the Alfred Hitchcock film The Lady Vanishes (1938). She was an established stage character player before she was 30. Her film roles were as neurotics or eccentrics, usually playing spinsters or unpleasant spouses. Ms. Lacey had roles in major films like I Know Where I'm Going (1947), The October Man (1947) and The Fighting Prince of Donegal (1966) (where she played Queen Elizabeth I). At the end of her career she played in horror films opposite Boris Karloff in The Sorcerers (1969) and as the mysterious Haiti in The Mummy's Shroud (1966).
