Cesar Abreu (born April 10, 1977), is a Puerto Rican dancer and actor.

Biography

Cesar Abreu was born into a well to do Puerto Rican business family. His grandfather was a salesman who traveled across Puerto Rico daily, selling different types of products.

Abreu became a national celebrity in Puerto Rico at the age of nine, when the television show Que Angelitos! (Little Angels!) began to be shown in Puerto Rico by WAPA-TV during 1986. Que Angelitos! became a major hit in Puerto Rican television, and Abreu's grandfather had a cameo role during the show's opening.

After the show was cancelled three years later, Abreu auditioned for the then world famous group, Menudo. He was hired by Edgardo Diaz in 1990 to join the group, immediately becoming a teen idol in Puerto Rico and other parts of Latin America.

Abreu left the group without any explanations given by him or by his family after only seven months with Menudo. After Sergio Glass and Ruben Gomez were found by Miami International Airport police carrying drugs during one of the group's tours and Ralphy Rodriguez made allegations that Diaz sexually molested some of the group members, speculation as to why Abreu had left so suddenly widened. Nevertheless, Abreu never spoke about the reason why he left, and nothing involving him was ever proven.

Abreu had expressed his desire to become a dancer in a future while a member of Menudo. He achieved that dream, and currently is hired by a dance company. In adition, he has done a number of acting jobs.
