| Charles Grodin (born as Charles Grodinsky to Jewish parents in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on April 21, 1935) is an American actor and cable talk show host. A student of Lee Strasberg and Uta Hagen, he began appearing in movies during the 1970s. Most comfortable at playing nervous men, he also has made some TV guest appearances and was a commentator for 60 Minutes II, and hosted his own issues-oriented talk show on CNBC for a time in the mid 1990s. He has been banned from Saturday Night Live for his clumsy performance in his episode. He attended, but did not graduate from, the University of Miami. Current projectHe has written a play about Co-op boards in fancy and snobby buildings in Manhattan. The play The Right Kind of People is now off Broadway.Partial filmography
