Daniela Denby-Ashe (born 9 August 1978 in London) is a British actress.

She studied dancing as a child and began acting at 10 years old.

She had early roles in The Bill and sit-com Desmond's and as Sarah Hills in EastEnders.

Daniela is a regular in sit-coms My Family and Office Gossip, and appeared in the dramas Rescue Me, Girls' Weekend and North & South. She also played 'Egg' in the BBC Radio 4 sit-com Ring Around the Bath in 2006.

She starred in The Countess at the Yvonne Arnold Theatre at the Criterion Theatre, London. She also played Saffy's daughter in Absolutely Fabulous in 1995.

Despite her English-sounding name, she is exclusively of Polish descent. Her father, Miroslaw Pszkit (pronounced as "Shkeet"), was born in Poland. He met Daniela's British-born Polish mother in a hotel lobby. Daniela's maternal grandmother was raised in France, so her relatives are French and Polish.

When Daniela's parents were getting married, they used the telephone directory to search for a suitable English-sounding surname, as most local people refused to learn how to pronounce "Pszkit". Daniela's father found the surname "Denby" and her mother found "Ashe". Failing to reach an agreement, they agreed to combine the two as a double-barrelled surname: Denby-Ashe.
