| Danny Wells is an actor born on April 7, 1941 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. There is little known information about him, as most of his roles place him as a background filler. Wells made his appearance known in the Lotsa Luck episode "The Winning Purse", which aired on October 19, 1973. He then made a guest appearance on Love, American Style, playing the character of Fred in the episode "Love and the Cover". His film debut came as a skating rink attendant in the made-for-TV movie Roll, Freddy, Roll!, which aired the next year, and then his theatrical debut as a drummer in The Strongest Man in the World a year later. He made regular guest appearances on The Jeffersons as the bartender Charlie. Oddly enough, Wells seems to be best known for once playing the role of video game character Luigi. Wells portrayed Mario's brother in the live-action segments of The Super Mario Bros. Super Show, as well as provided the character's voice in the animated segments. In subsequent Mario cartoons, Luigi was voiced by Tony Rosato. However, Wells was not the first actor to portray Luigi in animation or live-action, as those honors actually belong to Mizushima Yuu, who voiced him in the 1986 anime movie Super Mario Bros.: Peach-hime Kyushutsu Dai Sakusen, and the actor who played the then-overweight Luigi in the TV commercial for the Atari 2600 port of the Mario Bros. arcade game. Interestingly enough, Charles Martinet (Luigi's current voice actor, who also does Mario himself) based his interpretation of Luigi's voice off of Wells' performance, thus Luigi has always had a similar voice to that of the Super Show in video games past 1997. Though Wells only voiced Luigi for one series, he always provided the voice for the character of Bush in the animated incarnations of Heathcliff. When he played the character Raul on Heathcliff, Wells gave him a voice similar to that of comedian Jeff Foxworthy. Other roles that Wells has played include:
