| David Alpay (born October, 1980 in Toronto, Ontario) is a Canadian actor. Alpay first received attention for his leading role in Atom Egoyan's Ararat, for which he received a Genie Awards nomination. Although the film was a success, and many hoped to see more of Alpay, he in fact returned to his education, declaring his plan to leave the business for a while.. Prior to his first film role, he was studying at the University of Toronto, and he returned there to complete his Masters in the History of Medicine. Having graduated, Alpay once again returned to the Canadian Film/TV industry, playing notable roles in CBC-TV's Whiskey Echo mini-series as well as the Slings and Arrows mini. Alpay has a Masters Degree in History of Medicine. He is the principle violinist for the Canadian Dance Tapestry.
