David Newsom is a long-time American actor and fine-arts photographer born on March 10, 1964 in North Caldwell, New Jersey. David's father was an investor and his mother was an employment agency manager (as well as an artist later in life). He attended one year at Ohio University but dropped out and a year later he began attending Ithaca College where he earned a degree in film production.

David is a well-known face to many TV viewers but in recent years he's focused heavily on his passion for photography. In 2005, he collaborated with Viggo Mortensen
to create his recent photo journal called (his eldest brother's nickname) published by Mortensen's . Also in 2005, David began producing movies starting with his first short film written and directed by AFI's Sian Heder.
