Denise Ho (Ho Wan Si, TC: 何韻詩, SC: 何韵诗, pinyin: Hé Yùnshī, born 10 May 1977 in Hong Kong with family root in Shunde, Guangdong) is a singer, actress.

Biography

Denise Ho, also known as HOCC, CC, and Goo, was the only female disciple of Anita Mui
during the mid-1990s. She was born in Hong Kong and received education in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. She started her career in 1996, after she was awarded the first prize in the 15th New Talent Singing Contest (新秀歌唱大賽). Originally contracted with Capital Artists Ltd., but she didn't have her debut album, First, until 2001.

She then briefly joined EMI in 2002. She produced, in total, one EP(HOCC2) and 4 albums. She won many awards, including No.9 in the Top 10 Best Hits for the song Goodbye Rosemary (再見露絲瑪莉) and My Favourite Female Artist(Bronze) in the Commerical Radio Annual Awards in 2002.

In September 2004, Denise signed a contract with East Asia Music. The album Glamorous (艷光四射), which pays tribute to superstars of the 80's, was released in January 2005. In September, Denise performed the musical Butterfly Lovers (梁祝下世傳奇). She was the leading actress, also producer and musical director of the musical. Her album of the same name gave her three no.1 singles - 'Becoming a Butterfly' (化蝶), 'Rolls .Royce' (勞斯.萊斯) and 'Coffee in a Soda Bottle' (汽水樽裡的咖啡), which are all based on the story of the Butterfly Lovers but also considered promoting homosexuality - garnering her the silver female singer award at the 2005 Commercial Radio Annual Awards.
