Donald Francis Hastings (born April 1, 1934 in Brooklyn, New York) is an American actor.

He played Captain Video's teenaged sidekick, The Video Ranger in the DuMont television series Captain Video and His Video Rangers, which ran from 1949 to 1955. In this role, he played one of television's first superheroes designed to appeal to young children.

From 1956 to 1960, he played the role of Jack Lane on the soap opera The Edge of Night, and since October 1960, he has portrayed Dr. Bob Hughes on As the World Turns. Hastings holds the record for playing the same television role longer than any other actor. He beats out William Roache, Ken Barlow of Coronation Street, by two months, although Roache is sometimes incorrectly named as the record-holder.

Fellow As the World Turns stars Helen Wagner and Eileen Fulton have played their roles since April 1956 and May 1960, respectively, but they both have left the show at various times throughout the years (Wagner left the show after a few months of its debut, and later took several years off in the early 1980s, and Fulton left her role in late 1965, returning in early 1966, and again in 1983 for several months), so the tenure of both actresses are much shorter than his, making Hastings the record holder.
