| Doug Davidson (born October 24, 1954) is an American television actor. He was born in Glendale, California. Since 1978, he has played detective Paul Williams on the soap opera The Young and the Restless. In 1994, he hosted a syndicated version of the game show The Price is Right, but the show was canceled after one season. He is, however, on the short list of potential replacements for Bob Barker when Barker leaves the daytime show. The other candidates include Todd Newton, Roger Lodge, Marc Summers, and current announcer of the daytime show Rich Fields.
