[Image:Eva Chavela (born November 25, 1978 in Columbus, Ohio) is a musician and actress residing in New York City. She played guitar in the now defunct all-girl rock band The Drive (2002-2004) and toured briefly with metal act Static-X. She appeared on the MTV News special "The Social History of Hair" in 2003 and also starred in a one hour reality show documenting the making of a video. It aired in July 2003 on the BBC/TLC network. She is endorsed by the Epiphone guitar company and has appeared in several of their calendars. Eva first made headlines in 1996 when she dyed her hair Manic Panic Pillarbox Red. After arriving to school with her hair dyed red she was immediately kicked out of the building and told not to come back till she looked acceptable. Soon the local news heard about her hair and it spread across the US. She appeared in several news programs and even on the tabloid show Extra. The ACLU heard her plight and offered their services which allowed her to finish high school with her trendsetting style. She currently is a solo artist out of New York City and recently recorded her first . Her lyrics, voice and songs continue to attract a strong fan base.
