| Frederick Warde was a Shakesperian actor who moved from Britain to the United States in the late 1800's. He had two notable achievements, having 'discovered' Douglas Fairbanks Sr and persuaded him to move from Denver and joing his New York actors troupe; and being the star of the oldest surviving American feature film, Richard the Third. This feature film was re-discovered in 1996 and is now stored in the American Film Institute archives.
