| George Mallaby is a British-born actor, best known for his roles in Australian television. He played Detective Peter Barnes in the crime series Homicide from 1967 to 1973, followed by stints in The Box (as Paul Donovan), Cop Shop (as Detective Glen Taylor) and Prisoner (as social worker Paul Reid). A writer for television, he also worked on scripts for Homicide, Prisoner and Matlock Police. During the late 1970's, he returned to Britain and made appearances in television series such as Secret Army, Survivors and The Professionals. He died in 2004.
