| Gerard McSorley (born 1950, Omagh, County Tyrone, Ireland) is a character actor for theatre, television and film. He is a descendant of John McSorley, founder of McSorley's Old Ale House, the oldest Irish tavern in New York. After attending a Christian Brothers school in his hometown he attended St. Columb's College in Derry. He then attended Queen's University, Belfast, where he was taught by among others Seamus Heaney.
