Gil Doron Reichstadt Ofarim was born August 13, 1982 in Munich, Germany to Abi and Sandy Ofarim. Gil is a German pop singer and teen idol. Ofarim's Israeli Jewish father, Abi Ofarim, was part of the musical duo Abi and Esther Ofarim with his first wife, Esther Ofarim.

In 2004, Gil played Christoph in the made for TV movie, Endlich Sex!, a romantic comedy shown on Pro7 in Germany.

He previously performed simply as Gil, but now uses his first and last name.
