Gregg Coffin is a U.S. composer, playwright, and actor who is author of the musicals Five Course Love and Convenience. The former has been produced Off Broadway at New York's Minnetta Lane Theatre; the latter has recorded an original cast album. Both have been seen in regional productions.

Always musically oriented, Coffin grew up on the coast of Maine where he studied guitar from age five and piano from age eight. He attended Oberlin College in Ohio, and while there studied in London with actors from Royal Shakespeare Company and England's Royal National Theatre. He received his Master's Degree from Southern Methodist University, a course of study that helped him win a coveted place in the repertory company of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon.

While performing at the Sacramento Theatre Company in the 1990s, the actor Coffin decided to switch his focus largely to composing. Gregg has composed over 50 incidental scores for theatres throughout the United States and Canada, including Stratford Festival of Canada, National Arts Centre, CanStage, the Tarragon Theatre (where his 2001 incidental score for "Slavs!" won him Canada's Dora Award), Denver Center Theatre Company, Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Arena Stage, Indiana Repertory Theatre, Shakespeare Santa Cruz and Geva Theatre Center in Rochester, New York.
