Actors - Heather Tom

Heather Tom (born November 4, 1975 in Hinsdale, Illinois) is an American soap opera actress. She was born in Hinsdale, Illinois.

She is well known to American daytime drama fans for her role as Victoria Newman on The Young and the Restless on CBS. She played the role from 1991 until December 2003, when she left for a new role as Kelly Cramer Buchanan on ABC's soap One Life to Live. She has also made a handful of guest appearances on All My Children in 2004 playing the Kelly Cramer character. She is the third actress to portray Kelly Cramer Buchanan. Tom has also worked extensively in California theater.

She won two Daytime Emmy awards in 1993 and 1999 for "Outstanding Younger Lead Actress" along with nominations in 1994, 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 2000, 2004 and 2005. Heather Tom holds the record for the most Emmy Award nominations for actresses under the age of thirty.

Her siblings are also actors: her brother David Tom played Billy Abbott on The Young and the Restless, and also co-starred with her on One Life to Live as her brother (ironically). Her sister, Nicholle Tom, played Maggie Sheffield on the sitcom The Nanny.

Tom is a vocal supporter of reproductive rights for women, and helped found a group for daytime actors who are members of Planned Parenthood. In July 2005 Tom penned an op-ed in Soap Opera Digest criticizing Days of Our Lives for a storyline in which an abortion caused a young woman to develop a fertility-destroying infection.
