| Henry O'Neill (August 10, 1891-May 18, 1961) was a film actor known for playing grey-haired fathers, lawyers and similarly dignified roles during the 1930s and 1940s. He began his acting career on the theater stage, after dropping out of college to join a traveling theater company. He served in the military in World War I then returned to the stage. In the early 1930s he began appearing in films. His last film was the John Wayne starrer The Wings of Eagles. Other films include the Frank Sinatra/Gene Kelly musical Anchors Aweigh (1945) and The Reckless Moment (1949).
O'Neill died at the age of 69.
