| Hilton Edwards (February 2,1903-November 18,1982) was an Irish actor and theatrical producer. Edwards was born in London. He appeared in 15 films, including "Captain Lightfoot", Orson Welles's "Return to Glennascaul", which he also directed, wrote and produced, and a film version of David & Goliath. However, he was primarily known for his theater work; he was nominated for a Tony Award in 1966 for Best Director of a Drama for "Philadelphia, Here I Come!" Along with his partner/lover, Micheál MacLiammoir, co-founded the Gate Theatre in Dublin. Edwards and MacLiammoir were the subject of a biography, titled "The Boys" by Christophor Fitz-Simon. He died in Dublin, Ireland.
