Actors - Ian Somerhalder

Ian Joseph Somerhalder (born December 8, 1978 in Covington, Louisiana, USA) is an American actor, model and producer. He modeled for Guess? jeans before making the leap into acting. His first major role was in The Rules of Attraction, Roger Avary's adaptation of the Bret Easton Ellis novel of the same name. He was a main cast member for the first season of the American television series Lost as the character Boone Carlyle. He is of Irish, French, English, and Native American descent.

He dated Nicky Hilton in 2003. On the Season 1 DVD of Lost, the actors' name is misspelled "Sommerhalder" on the title screen for a commentary he recorded with the show's creators.

He also produced Recess and made appearances in television shows such as Smallville (in which he played Adam, a physiotherapist), CSI: Miami, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Now and Again, and The Big Easy. Ian was also named Sexiest Man Alive by Lauren Magazine in 2006. When asked what his reaction was to being given this title, he simply replied, "Miss Black keeps me young I guess."
