Jack Holt (May 31, 1888 - January 18, 1951) was an American motion picture actor.

Born Charles John Holt in Fordham, New York, he grew up in Winchester, Virginia. Jack Holt starred in many silent films. His career continued into the sound era. He appeared in such notable films as San Francisco, They Were Expendable
and The Treasure of the Sierra Madre
in a small part (his son Tim Holt was one of the film's stars).

Jack Holt died in Los Angeles, California and is buried there in the Los Angeles National Cemetery. His son Tim
and daughter Jennifer
would both have successful careers as film actors.

For his contribution to the motion picture industry, Jack Holt has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6313-1/2 Hollywood Blvd.
