| Jack Tripp (February 4, 1922 - July 10, 2005), was a British comic actor best known for his many performances as a pantomime dame. He was born in Plymouth, Devon, and took up dancing as a child. During his military service, he joined the entertainment corps, "Stars in Battledress", and was spotted by an agent, resulting in his becoming an understudy to Sid Field after the war. Tripp played dames in 35 different pantomime seasons, and was awarded the MBE for his contribution to the genre. His last performance was as Mother Goose in Plymouth in 1996. He retired to Hove, Sussex, where he died.
