William Jake Busey (born June 15, 1971 in Los Angeles, California), sometimes credited as Jacob Busey, is an American actor/film producer.

Family life

He is the son of Gary Busey and Judy Helkenberg. An only child, his parents divorced when he was 16.

Career

Jake Busey's start in acting came in the 1978 feature film, Straight Time
, wherein he portrayed the son of his real-life father, Gary Busey, and Kathy Bates. His eleventh film was 1994's S.F.W.
, where he played Morrow Streeter. Jake's acting range can be seen in the contrast of his smart-mouthed soldier Ace Levy in 1997's Starship Troopers
to the psychotic hitchhiker in 2002's The Hitcher 2: I've Been Waiting. Jake claims to prefer playing villains.

Jake also starred in the 1999 UPN television comedy Shasta McNasty.

One of Hollywood's bad boys, Jake initially struggled to escape from the shadow of his father's acting. As of 2006, he has 31 feature films under his belt and can no longer be simply considered a young Gary Busey.
