Jaime Lyn Bauer (born March 9) is an American actress. She was born in Phoenix, Arizona. Bauer is well-known from her starring role on CBS-TV's "The Young and the Restless" (1973-82) as the sexy, sophisticated & wild 'Lauralee Brooks'.

Bauer's intrinsic beauty and her scholastic record were perfect attributes for the Junior Miss Pageant, which she entered and went on to place as a runner-up in the Miss Arizona Pageant. After graduating from Phoenix Junior College, Bauer began modeling in Chicago during the day and working as a bookkeeper for Stouffer's restaurants at night. She also became Miss Chicago for the Miss America Pageant. She was 2nd runner-up for the Miss Illinois title having won the Bathing Suit competition.

While trying to break into modeling in LA, She decided it might be possible to supplement her modeling income with a few bit parts in television. To her surprise, she landed guest-starring roles every week of her first month in the business. The fourth week she had to choose between a 7 year contract with Universal as a contract player or a three year contract for "The Young and The Restless". When Bauer left "Y&R" at the end of 1982, she joined the cast of the prime time soap, "BareEssence," which also starred fellow soap actress Genie Francis (GH). "Bare Essence" ran from February to June, 1983, following which Jaime rejoined "Y&R" for a brief stint in 1984.

She auditioned for the "Odd Couple" on Broadway. When she was asked to negotiate an eleven month contract, she was forced to decline having just discovered she was pregnant with her third child, born in 1986. She decided to spend the rest of 1986, at home with her newest, just being Mom. Right before going back to acting her son had his first seizure. It was later determined that her son had epilepsy.

She debut as a patient in a psychiatric hospital on October 26,1993 on NBC’s daytime program "Days Of Our Lives" as 'Dr. Laura Horton', who was just coming out of a catatonic state.

Bauer and her husband, Jeremy Swan, an Emmy Award winning make-up artist, are committed Christians involved with their church and community. Their central focus is their 25-year marriage and their 3 children. On her days off, Jaime spends a great deal of her free time serving as the celebrity spokesperson for the Epilepsy Foundation. As the mother of a child with epilepsy, she's experienced the ignorance and stigma associated with the disorder. She is working diligently to not only raise money for research, but to educate the public in order to bring understanding, acceptance and support to the 2.5 million Americans who have epilepsy.
