| Jay Baruchel (born on 9 April 1982 in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) is a Jewish-Canadian actor who got his start on the local children's series My Hometown then co-hosted Popular Mechanics for Kids. He went on to play minor roles in Almost Famous and The Rules of Attraction. His awkward demeanour and gangly physique won him the lead role in Judd Apatow's lauded yet short-lived series Undeclared (2001-2002). Most recently, he played Danger Barch, a mentally disabled boxing hopeful, in Clint Eastwood's Million Dollar Baby (2004). Jay's name was among those thanked by Eastwood when accepting the Oscar for Best Picture. He also starred opposite Don Johnson in the short-lived American TV show Just Legal in September and October of 2005. Jay currently resides in Montreal, Quebec.
