| For other people named John Bennett, see here. John Bennett (born 8 May 1928 in Beckenham, Kent, died 11 April 2005) was a British actor. He had many roles on television including Porridge, Survivors, The Avengers and Bergerac. He played General Finch in the Doctor Who serial Invasion of the Dinosaurs (1974) and the Chinese magician Li H'sen Chang The Talons of Weng-Chiang (1977). Despite being such a familiar face on screen, he never became a household name. He is probably best remembered as Philip Bosinney in the BBC's 1967 adaptation of The Forsyte Saga. His film roles included The Fifth Element (1997), Charlotte Grey (2001) and Minority Report (2002). Gates of Gold with William Gaunt was his last stage role.
