John Francis Bregar (born on March 1 1985 in North York, Ontario, Canada) is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Dylan Michalchuk on Degrassi: The Next Generation. He began his acting career at the age of 11 in his elementary school production of "Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamboat." His first acting auditions were for "Queer as Folk." His professional acting debut was starring in the music video 'Father' by Knights of the Realm. He played Jason Valentine in the Canadian Film Center short film, Todd and the Book of Pure Evil. He and Adamo Ruggiero were nominated for a GLAAD Media Award at the 15th Annual GLAAD Media Awards and featured in the popular magazine The Advocate for their roles in Degrassi: The Next Generation, as teenage boyfriends. While his first two auditions were for Queer as Folk and he portrayed a gay teenager on Degrassi: The Next Generation, John identifies as straight in real life.Quotes"Well, I try not to get into stressful situations. When I do, I start thinking logically. When that doesn't work, I go to the gym.""I want to be a hero. I've always looked up to Zorro, in fact." "I would never sacrifice my health. It is very important to me." "I wouldn't change anything, because I was born this way. There is always room for growth, however." "Being funny, open, and honest seems to work the best." "I didn't know Adamo's character because I hadn't watched Degrassi. I thought he was maybe the reader." " I tell them that i'm a straight actor playing a gay role, and that I love playing the role. I don't want to leave people hanging. I'm not ashamed to say i'm straight! In the fourth season, I found myself being very comfortable kissing Adamo. For the first time, I didn't care what people thought. I was nervous and uncomfortable in the beginning, but as the scenes went on, it became more about making the moments real" [ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for John Bregar ] Some related entries: Julee Cruise | Sheila Dunn | David Dimbleby | Najwa Nimri | Ruby Lin | Bimbo Danao | John Maxwell | Toshihiko Nakajima | Sam Atwell | Allen Jenkins | Yuki Ninagawa This page is based on the copyrighted Wikipedia article John Bregar; it is used under the GNU Free Documentation License.
