John Jarratt (born August 5, 1951 in Wollongong, New South Wales) is an Australian actor currently garnering accolades for his portrayal of Mick Taylor in Wolf Creek
.

Jarratt graduated from NIDA, the Australian national drama school in 1973. His screen career got off to a flying start with appearances in Peter Weir's Picnic at Hanging Rock
in 1975 and Summer City in 1977 with a young Mel Gibson. In the almost 30 intervening years Jarratt has carved out a career combining film and television work. Prior to Wolf Creek he hadn't appeared in a film since 1996 and is currently playing the affable Terry Dodge in Australian television series McLeod's Daughters.

In-between acting roles, Jarratt has worked as a builder and has presented his own building-themed show, Better Homes and Gardens. He is the father of five children (Zadia, Ebony, Charlie, Will and Jackson).
