| John Irwin McGiver (November 5, 1912 - September 9, 1975) was an American character actor who made many appearances in television and motion pictures. He was best known as Mr O'Daniel from the film Midnight Cowboy and Senator Thomas Jordan in the original The Manchurian Candidate.
