Johnny Kim (born September 25, 1968) is a Korean born film actor, producer, and director. He is working on an independent 35mm feature film called Raspberry & Lavender: Diary of a Lavender Girl based on his comics. He has directed Raspberry & Lavender: The Lavender Girl in 2004.

Johnny Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea and grew up in Singapore. His family later migrated to the US in 1976. His family moved once again to San Francisco California in 1978. While attending Westmoor High School in Daly City California, he became fascinated with music and film industry. He became a martial art teacher from 1986 to 1989.

His breakthrough as an actor came with Outbreak (1995), and he played Korean Newscaster in Independence Day (Film) (1995), where he was credited as Derek Kim; an alternative name Johnny Kim used until 2002.

He is currently producing various film music projects in Los Angeles area.
