| Katie Johnson (Bessie Kate Bayly, November 18, 1878 - May 4, 1957, Elham, Kent) was a British actress who appeared on stage from the 1890s and on screen from the 1930s to 1950s. She was married to the actor Frank G Bayly, who predeceased her. She first appeared in a film at age 55, in 1932, but never reached critical acclaim for her performances until 1955, when she starred aged 77 in the Ealing comedy The Ladykillers as the old lady, Mrs. Louisa Wilberforce. The role earned her a British Film Academy award for best British actress. In the same year she also appeared in the science fiction BBC serial The Quatermass Experiment. She died less than two years after she starred in her breakthrough role.
