Kay Hammond was a stage and film actress. She was born in London on 18 February 1909, the daughter of Sir Guy Standing
. she died in Brighton on 4th May 1980.

She studied at RADA and first appeared on the London stage in 1927. Her most famous roll was that of Elmira in "Blithe Spirit
", which she played in both the original stage production and the film.
