Kay Medford (September 14, 1914 - April 10, 1980), was an Oscar-nominated American character actress from New York.

She was the original Mama in Bye, Bye Birdie, starring opposite of Dick van Dyke on Broadway. In 1964, she was nominated for a Tony Award for the show of Funny Girl
. She was nominated for an Academy Award in 1968 for Funny Girl
, her only nomination at the Academy. She lost to Ruth Gordon
, however.
