Khursheed Bano (April 14 1914 - April 18 2001) was a founding singer/actress in India.

Khursheed was born as Irshad Begum in the village of Choonian Distt, Lahore in 1914. She made her debut in Shehla (1931) and some of her earlier films were between 1931 and 1938. Khursheed did a number of films for Ranjit Movietone and her leading men included K.L. Saigal, Motilal, Jairag, and Isharilal. Tansen (1943), with music composed by legendary Khem Chandra Prakash, was a very successful film. She became famous both as actress and a singer. Her career ran through the 1930s and 1940s.Her last film in India was Papeeha Re (1948), which was a great hit before she migrated to Pakistan leaving her mark in the film industry. Khursheed migrated to Pakistan, with her husband Lala Yakub, who was an occasional actor and member of the Bhati Gate Group Lahore. She worked in two films in 1956, Fankar and Mandi. She left her husband Yakub, due to personal problems and remarried in 1956 to Yusuf Miyan and later became a philanthropist. After her marriage to Miyan, she appeared in few PTV shows. A number of private shows were also held by her admirers and private institutions were attended by her. Khursheed died in 2001 at the age of 87 years and an era in terms of acting and singing came to an end.
