Actors - Kym Marsh

Kym Marsh (born Kimberly Gail Marsh in Whiston, Lancashire, England, on 13 June, 1976) first arose to fame when the reality TV show Popstars emerged. The show was looking for five girls, or boys, to be part of a band, that would go on to try and make it big in the charts. Kym impressed judges with her vocal talent.

After becoming one of the chosen five for the band now called "Hear'Say", she and fellow bandmates were moved into a mansion, in preparation for the single and album launch. Whilst auditioning for the band, she kept it a secret that she had two children, David and Emily, who were then aged five and three.

She became particulary noticeable for becoming angry and emotional, when one judge advised her to lose weight. Cursing and crying, Kym refused to be judged, and became popular with the public.

Hear'Say hit the number one spot with debut single "Pure & Simple" and also with their debut album Popstars. However, the media would soon savage the band, and scrutinise their every move. The band enjoyed one more single before tensions started to emerge.

First came reports of Kym, and fellow bandmate Myleene Klass clashing, and having vicious spats in the street. One tabloid headline read that Kym actually punched Myleene. All reports were denied on both sides, although it was clear that the band were unhappy. And after the band released their second album (which flopped), Kym broke news that she was leaving the band.

After a while out of the spotlight, Kym emerged again with a record deal. Her first single, "Cry", went to number two, and it seemed like the media were warm to her. Her second single "Come On Over" made number ten, followed by her album that got to number nine. Then it all went wrong again.

Bouts of bad publicity followed, after speculation rose of her marriage to ex-EastEnders star Jack Ryder
was on the rocks. They had temporarily split, and Kym was accused of seeing another man. Although she denied this, and reconciled with Jack, Kym was now having a hard time from the media again. They had started to nitpick at sales of her album, which were low. This put her in the position of "make-or-break" with her third single, "Sentimental". It stalled at number thirty five, and Kym Marsh was dropped by her label. She has since expressed her unhappiness while in the music industry.

Kym then went on to playing Annette in the West End musical Saturday Night Fever
. She is also presenter on ITV1's daytime show Loose Women. In a surprise move, she entered Making Your Mind Up 2006, the UK show to pick a singer and song for the Eurovision Song Contest with a song called "Whisper To Me". Kym came third in the contest, losing out the winner Daz Sampson. Kym Marsh is soon to appear in british soap Coronation Street, she will play a girl called Michelle who is a young singer who joins Vernon Tomlin's band. She will spark up a quick rivalry with Liz McDonald. She is set to appear in april.
