Linda Brava (aka Linda Lampenius, born February 26, 1970) is a top Finnish violinist.YouthLinda was born and raised in Helsinki Finland. Her parents were actors and her father was also a director. Linda joined the musical kindergarten at the age of three, and began playing violin as a five-year-old. Her first teacher was well-known Geza Szilvay. Linda joined the famous and highly respected youth orchestra called Helsinki Juniorstrings when she was eight, and toured with them as a member, concertmaster and soloist all over the Europe, USA, Canada and Japan. At the age of eleven, Linda played as a soloist with the Helsinki Radio Symphony Orchestra.In 1987, Linda began studies at the renowned Sibelius Academy’s youth department, and in 1990 she continued to the Academy itself, after she won the place to study there. At the time, Linda was guided by conductor Ari Angervo and violinists Nachum Erlich and Päivyt Rajamäki. Linda played with the school orchestras, and she was the concertmaster of the Conductor Class Orchestra. Musical careerAfter the years in the Academy, Linda played three years in the Finnish National Opera Ochestra holding the 1st violin, and she also made many solo orchestral appearances with the city orchestras in Finland. After perfoming with the Sibelius Academy Symphony Orhestra in a televised Movie Award gala in Finland, Linda found herself hurtled to stardom as a blonde violin sensation.In 1997, Linda got an invitation from legendary lord Andrew Lloyd Webber to play a solo part at his new musical Metal Philharmonic. Linda also made a knock-out concert at the Sydmonton Festival, and the headlines (like wise the covers of The Sun and the Sunday Times) in United Kingdom were dedicated for her. Linda moved to Los Angeles, and she made many TV-performances as a musician performing in various enterntainmentshows and visited several talk shows in USA and Europe. Linda also guest starred on American tv-series Baywatch and Fame L.A being what else than a beautiful violinist. Linda made also a fabulous performance in Royal Albert Hall which was show worldwide on BBC and Eurosport. Linda performed for the president Martti Ahtisaari, the Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and also for princes Rainier and Albert in Monaco. Linda made a solo orchestral appearances with the well-known BBC National Orchestra of Wales and Milan´s renowed La Scala Orchestra and got ready for releasing her first classical album she had been recording while living in London. Linda had released pop album in 1997, but it was only released in Finland. In 1999, EMI Classics released the classical album worldwide. The album got lots of positive attention and great reviews. For example, extremely respected British The Gramophone Magazine focused in classical music published an excellent and positive review on Linda's classical album. Classic FM Magazine published also a great review putting "Linda Brava, Finland´s violin sensation" on its cover. Linda made many performances in Europe and Asia with the release and she was also interviewed in several talk shows and enterntainmentshows. After taking some time of her own, Linda continued working as a violinist. She moved to Stockholm and played a leading part in Fantastix Show which was seen in legendary Hamburger Börs in Stockholm. Linda also performed in Rhapsody In Rock Show in London´s Royal Albert Hall Linda also made her NATO´s KFOR Chronicle in Kosovo, performed in Unicef-gala in Switzerland and at Tivoli in Copenhagen. Linda has also entertained the Swedish Royal Family time after time during her time in Sweden. Linda's popularity in Sweden can bee seen also that way that she played the official song for the Sweden´s national team during the Ice Hockey World Championships in Prague. And in 2004, Linda made two musical tours including 50 sold-out concerts all over the country. Linda´s third album, Nordic Light, was released in 2005. It includes the finest songs in Nordic folk tradition, and it has been a truly critical succes. Linda has also founded a band called Grace. Albums & DVD
Model CareerLinda has graced the covers of numerous European fashion magazines. She has been a model for Björn Borg´s range of lingerie and swimsuits. Linda was seen in printed ads and several fashion shows where she played music from her pop-album. Linda has also been a model for Christian Lacroix. In 1998, Linda gave an appearance on the front cover of Playboy Magazine's 'Sex & Music' issue (celebrity pictorial and editorial).ActingLinda has also worked as an actress in Europe and USA.
