The following describes many of the more noteworthy recurring characters on the sketch comedy television series MADtv.AntoniaAntonia Timmens was a character played by Nicole Sullivan. Antonia Timmens has difficulty doing everyday activities. Antonia has also held a variety of jobs, including acting as a suicide hotline operator, and working at a pizza place.Antonia has also done things putting her in bizarre situations, such as piloting an airplane, crashing it, and surviving the crash — with the sole fatality being Phil LaMarr's character. Antonia was also the frequent guest of a game show where she tried to flip a coin at the Super Bowl, only to lose the coin. Antonia frequently says "it's possible" with a lisp and often mentions her cat, CeeCee. ClopsClops is a MADtv parody of the Fox show COPS. It is claymation police officers who "take down" popular cartoon characters for "bad" things. They have "arrested" characters like Gumby for robbing a convenience store, GI Joe and Barbie for disturbing the peace, Mr. Potato Head for drunkenness in public, Paddington Bear for indecent exposure and flashing, Mr. Peanut, The California Raisins, and others.TankTank is a small Asian character played actor Bobby Lee. Tank drives a Daewoo and has his cousin sit in the back of his car making it bounce, plays music and turns on underglow lights when he shouts commands. Bouncers don't admit him into nightclubs, so he tries to pick up girls outside the clubs and impress them with his car.DotDot is an attention-starved eight-year-old girl played by Stephanie Weir. Dot obsesses about wearing gloves, contantly chews gum and wears her hair in pigtails. A recurring theme of these sketches is Dot driving her parents crazy with her scenographically exaggerated childish antics, who obviously favor Dot's gifted twin sister, Karen, played by Alex Borstein. Since Borstein and Mo Collins, who played Dot's mother have since left the show, current sketches only co-star her father, played by Michael McDonald.StuartStuart Larkin is a fictional little boy played by Michael McDonald. He is almost always accompanied by his supposedly borderline alcoholic mother, Doreen (Mo Collins), who scolds him for his various acts of childhood mischief. For example, he is often seen eating different junk foods, and when his mother inquires about them, he simply replies that he found them on the floor. His face is pale, and often stared vacantly at nothing, possibly because of constantly hinted-at childhood traumas, such as his dad leaving them. On one episode, he says, "Mommy, daddy called," and his mother, quavering, replies, "What did he say?" and Stuart replies, "He said he's glad to be out of this hellhole." Stuart is known for his catchphrases, specifically "Look what I can do," (and his subsequent break into an awkward, hopping dance) and "Let me do it!" when an adult attempts to assist him with something. He occasionally references his genital area as his "danger zone", or referring to the genitals directly as his "goo-goo." When pushed too far, his boyish falsetto is replaced by a deep demonic voice. His original name was "Scott."Rusty MillerRusty Miller, played by Michael McDonald, is a college student at Cal State-Fullerton with a public access show. Somehow, Rusty gets numerous celebrities (Drew Barrymore, Mandy Moore) to interview. Rusty has been featured in skits that are not about his show. He often offers guests a Zima. His show is broadcast on the Cal State-Fullerton campus and parts of Yorba Linda.Bunny SwanBunny Swan, more commonly known as "Miss Swan," is portrayed by actress Alex Borstein and appeared on the show until Borstein's departure. She is arguably the most well-known character from the program. She began as little more than a character based on stereotype. She is portrayed as an older Asian woman who works as a manicurist and owns the Gorgeous Pretty Beauty Nail Salon. An episode also states that she is Icelandic. In another sketch, she claims to be half Spanish and half alien. In one sketch it is revealed that Miss Swan is from the fictional country of Kuvaria, near the North Pole, and home of Santa Claus. In the same sketch she says her date of birth is 3-15-98, which would have made her two years old in the year 2000, which is highly unlikely, despite her claims that, 'I turn three on the fifteen (sic)'. And in another sketch she says that she is over 100 years old, whether this is comedic coincidence or a well developed character background, is unknown. The comic situations she would get into usually arose from her inability to communicate with others due to a language barrier. Eventually the other character in the scene would become fed up with her and storm off in a rage. Early on her catch phrase "Oh, okay, I tell you everything: he look-a like-a man!" would catch on, stemming from a sketch in which she was unable to identify a thief because of her inability to describe him.[ Visit the complete Wikipedia entry for MADtv recurring characters ] Some related entries: Daisy Bopanna | Lucy Liu | Royce D.
