| Madge Hindle (born May 19, 1938 in Blackburn, Lancashire) is a British actress, best known for her roles on television series. From 1968 to 1973, she played the role of Lily Tattersall on the series Nearest and Dearest, which first introduced her to the collective UK viewing audience. In 1976, she started the role of Renee Bradshaw on the soap opera Coronation Street, which she played until her character was killed off in 1980. Most recently, she has played alongside Gwen Taylor on the 1990s television series Barbara.
